Hey! This small tutorial will show you how to get your FindeXer like Windows 7, in XP.

First of all, you will need FindeXer for XP, which is included in ~fediaFedia's Aero Ultimate 7 6801 Beta, and it has Win7/Vista icons included: [link]

Note: Download this deviation for the Windows 7 Network icon as shown in the preview.


Add all the links you want and change their icons to the ones supplied. Note that the icons are 16x16, and we'll resize them later, so use them for now.


Now, after adding all the links you want, arrange them in order. For example, Pictures will come under 'Libraries', and 'Local Disk' under 'Computer' etc. If you aer unsure, look at the preview.


In the FindeXer options, change HotTrack (BG) Color to:
R: 233 G: 233 B: 233
..and HotItem Color to black.
Also, change the item size to 16, and the font to Segoe UI, size 9. Change the colour to black, as well.


Make sure the 'Load FindExer in....' and 'Enable HotTracking' are ticked. Also, select 'Use both' under the 'Items' tab. Under seperators, make the seperator colour white, line thickness 1.


Also make sure there is no titlebar, and add seperators where necessary as shown in the preview. You can also add two spaces before the name of each item under the categories. For example, 'Desktop' under the 'Favourites' now becomes ' Desktop' to make it look like it's moved over. Also put Favourites at the top of the list.



Then you're done! Make sure you download this .zip file as it includes the Win7 network icon, as shown.
